How to cook American Chopsuey

American chop suey is believed to be invented by Chinese immigrants in America in 1880's. A dish consisting of meat, veggies and noodles cooked quickly in sweet and tangy thickened sauce. A meal by itself!

Ingredients Required

  • 1 medium / 50g capsicum
  • cut into cubes ¼ cup / 50g cabbage
  • shredded

  • 50 g noodlees, boiled & fried
  • 1 tbsp oil
  • 2 ¼ cups/ 450 ml water
  • for garnishing:2 sprigs of spring onion, chopped

Steps

Directions

  1. Heat oil in a pan, add cut vegetables and saute for a minute.
  2. Add water and Suhana American Chop Suey Ready Mix. Stir well and cook for 5-6 minutes or till the sauce thickens.
  3. Place the fried noodles in a serving bowl and pour the sauce over it. Garnish with spring onion and serve hot.

Chef's Tip: Add fried chicken chunks along with fried noodlees to make a chicken chop suey.
